Hameedullah Jan Afridi was elected as member to the Senate of Pakistan in Feb, 2003. He was elected as Chairman of Senate Standing Committee, on Ministry of States and Frontier Regions. (SAFRON). He has also been member of Senate Committee on Interior, Commerce, Human Rights and Population Planning. He contested general elections in 2008 and became member of National Assembly.
